So then, Xiaomi has finally announced the prices for Redmi 1S and Redmi Note as promised. An earlier Facebook post promised that the exposé will happen at 9pm but the info only came up 15 mins after the hour. Even though the delay was slight, it still caused a little stir on the FB page.
Now, let’s dive into the details shall we? The Redmi 1S has a price tag of RM419 and will be joining Xiaomi’s Tuesday madness at 12 noon on the 8th of July while the Redmi Note will debut two weeks later on the 22nd of July at the same time. The Note carries a price tag of RM509. That’s a lot of phones for the prices and if we’re not mistaken, only ASUS Zenfones are able to take on these bad boys now in this price war.
If there’s any indication of how well the new devices are going to do in Malaysia, look no further than the comments on the Xiaomi Malaysia Facebook page. The recently concluded Tuesday rush left even more frustrated fans. Xiaomi had on sale 8K Mi 3 phones, 5K 10400mAh and 5K 5200mAh Mi Power Banks but these were all sold off in 1 minute and 55 seconds. ‘Incredible’ does not even begin to describe the reception Xiaomi is receiving in Malaysia.
